Upon exiting Electric Town exit of Akihabara station, one can see numerous electronic stores lined on both sides of the street, and a strange sight of staff dressed in maid costumes distributing flyers. Akihabara is a lively area full of popular culture such as anime (animation), manga and maid cafes.

Commonly referred to as Akiba. Renowned as the world’s leading electronics district, you will have no trouble finding computers, computer parts, cellphones and Internet products in this town that offers the latest in multimedia. Handshake and photo events with idols held in Akihabara attract many young people. For those who want to enjoy sightseeing in trendy Akihabara and are also interested in Japan’s animation culture, Tokyo Anime Center is the place to visit.
